- GUTTER GUARDIAN® DIY INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
TOOLS REQUIRED: MARKER PEN, SCISSORS/ TIN SNIPS, PHILLIPS, SCREWDRIVER/ DRILL BIT, GLOVES |
Always be aware of the dangers of working at heights. Ensure you use the appropriate safety equipment. |
Begin by laying all the material together. Gutter Guardian™ has a rough side and a smooth side. Ensure the rough side is on top. The “Cheese Grate” effect created by the extrusion allows water through in one direction. If you can see through the material from the top then that is the direction the water must come from. If you cannot see through the material turn it through 180 degree on a horizontal plane. Mark the Gutter Guardian® with the pen to show which way you want to install to the roof. |
Put a slight curve on the material. This assists the slip in fit. This can be rolled around a downpipe, tree or anything handy. |
Remember the right direction and push the Gutter Guardian® to the back corner of the gutter. If gutter brackets are in the way, cut a slot in the material to comfortably fit around the clip. |
Next push the front lip of the gutter away from the roof and curl over the Gutter Guardian™ and clip it into the rolled edge of the gutter. Release the gutter and the material will hold in tight.
Overlap the next piece by 5-10mm and secure with 1 or 2 of the tech screws supplied. These can be sourced at your local hardware store. |
VALLEY INSTALLATION Measure the width of the valley and then fold the material into the shape of a staple with the top being the width of the valley. Trim the legs if required
Put the material into the valley all the way to the top, starting from the bottom and overlap the material by 10-20mm. Then place a long piece of wood on top of the material and push down. This will expand the material into the sides of the valley and hold it securely. |
